IDK if anyone has asked this here before, but I'd like to know how many of you have read the books vs. seen a film adaptation, if you read the books first or not, which you prefer, etc.
I prefer the books to all series and films. I saw a bit of the Jeremy Brett tv series which prompted me to read the books. However reading the books first does not stop me enjoying all the others immensely. The jeremy Brett series is the most faithful adaptation and I love it. Especially his performance. Although very different I loved the Benedict cumberbatch series to
TV/Movies. I got lazy and I love the variety. I am glad I started with the books and now I really enjoy seeing the movies and TV versions on top of that foundation.
