221C Baker Street is a basement flat in London that is owned by Mrs Hudson. The flat is located downstairs from unit 221B, which is currently being rented by Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.
The flat was shown to Sherlock before he chose to rent out 221B with John. Mrs Hudson was unable to find anyone to rent it, something she rationalised as being due to mould usually found in basement flats, and it remained empty until Moriarty led Sherlock to look in there again.[1]
