Henry Lloyd-Hughes is a British actor who portrays Sherlock Holmes in the 2021 Netflix series The Irregulars.

Lloyd-Hughes says the series attempted to portray a version of Holmes that had never been seen before, and that he won't be what the other characters or audience are expecting. He has described his character as a "mysterious and malevolent figure in the shadows", who is "notable by [his] absence." The Holmes of the series is a "shell" of his former self, leaving the audience guessing how much much remains of his past genius.[1] Lloyd Hughes had initially auditioned for the part of John Watson, a role which instead went to Royce Pierreson.[2]

Lloyd-Hughes has previously appeared in numerous television shows, most notably as Mark Donovan in The Inbetweeners; Marius Pontmercy in the 2018 BBC adaptation of Les Misérables; and Aaron Peel in Killing Eve. He has also had several film roles, notably in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the 2012 adaptation of Anna Karenina, and the 2014 adaptation of Madame Bovary.
