Sherlock Gnomes directed by John Stevenson, was the sequel to Gnomeo & Juliet (2011). Starring James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mary J. Blige, and Johnny Depp, the film was released on the 23 March 2018 and grossed over $87 million worldwide. Many of the film's characters are based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's, and several allusions are made to his works.
