Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson was a television series which aired from 1979 to 1980. It is something of a spiritual successor to the 1954 series; both shows were produced by Sheldon Reynolds, and some scripts such as "The Case of The Blind Man's Bluff" and "The Case of Harry Crocker" were reused.
The series was filmed in Warsaw, Poland. It featured a mostly British supporting cast, and veteran directors such as Roy Ward Baker and Val Guest.
Unlike the 1954 series, which has received numerous home video releases over the decades, this show has fallen into obscurity. Various post-production troubles and legal issues resulted in the series remaining largely unaired outside of Poland, with its sole home media release being in Germany. Low quality recordings have since appeared on YouTube.
