Sherlock Holmes and the Strange Events at the Bank of England was a fiction book written by Graham Avery. It has a total of 144 pages and was published on September 1997.

Story Plot[]

The consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes is called upon to solve the theft of a fortune in bonds from that impregnable institution. It is a theft that literally could have been committed by no man...and indeed it wasn't! The explanation of the crime is almost as surprising as the fact that the fortune in bonds wasn't the point of the affair at all! In the Bank of England, Its Origin and Development, Maberley Phillips, a 19th-century career man in the Bank of England and HM Treasury walks us through the complex architecture and history of the premier institution of British finance, in war and peace, plague and panic, bank runs and swindles!
