Partner or Husband[]
First and foremost, I have respect for the LGBT community. I also know gay marriage is allowed in U.K. However, there have been numerous attempts at degrading Sherlock by calling him gay. Also, during interviews, Mark often refers to Ian as his partner. Also, considering they are in a civil partnership, it's better to call them partners. --Sherrinford (talk) 11:32, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
- I disagree. According to this source, he is actually married, and thus that makes Ian Hallard his husband. If the issue is about degrading Sherlock, then honestly one of the best things we can do is portray it in a positive light. Fruipit (talk • contribs • editcount) 11:42, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
- I also think it should be left as husband. And I'm not sure why you think it is degrading for Sherlock to be called gay, or why this is relevant to this issue, but I'd have to disagree here too. --Amateur Obsessive (talk) 12:43, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, my point was if people found out that one of the brains behind Sherlock is gay then they would have more reasons to bash it. Not that I care about their opinions but considering that society has not completely accepted the LGBT community, I deemed it safer to call them partners. But seeing as I am outnumbered, I acquiesce and respect your decision. --Sherrinford (talk) 02:18, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure why it is relevant to note that Mark doesn't have a Facebook account? --Amateur Obsessive (talk) 12:43, June 12, 2014 (UTC)
