The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was an American television series adaptation of Sherlock Holmes and aired in 1954. It consisted of 39 half-hour episodes and they were mostly original stories. It was produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France by Guild Films. Ronald Howard starred as Sherlock Holmes, Howard Marion Crawford as Dr John Watson and Archie Duncan as Inspector Lestrade.

  • The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was the first American television series adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, and the only one until Elementary aired in 2012.
  • The show used the title Sherlock Holmes on its original run in the United States, even though it had been produced as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The original title was restored with the DVD release in 2006.
