I am not sure if anyone has seen these books...
Ray Moore, writer of quality Study Guides for High School students, has published his latest resource for students and teachers on the classic Sherlock Holmes novel, The Sign of Four.
His valuable Study Guide meets the needs of students who want help understanding the birth of the detective genre, the Sherlock Holmes canon, and the historical background to the story. It offers chapter-by-chapter commentary and guiding questions, and a concluding analysis of the text.
For the busy teacher, also available are graphic organizers which allow students to make concise notes on Holmes’ scientific method of detection, and to explore the character traits of the primary characters.
However, if you want more than a Study Guide, there is also his popular Text and Critical Introduction series which goes into even more detail and provides the full text accompanied by background notes, vocabulary, and helpful illustrations. In fact, everything a reader needs to be able to formulate his/her own ideas about the novel!
I find his books well written and provide lots of information and insights to aspects of the book I might have missed. I wish they had been available when I was studying for my exams!
