You might have heard already, Baker Street fans, but a new Sherlock Holmes story was discovered recently in an attic! However, it looks like this "new" story might actually just be fanfiction. According to Flavorwire, a man named Walter Elliot discovered the 1903 pamphlet with an unsigned contribution in his attic "with a painting of an old wooden bridge that had been washed away by a flood in 1902." The story is called “Sherlock Holmes: Discovering the Border Burghs and, By Deduction, the Brig Bazaar” and was part of a pamphlet with other stories to raise money for the restoration of a local bridge.
Apparently Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a frequent guest in that area and was the fundraiser's guest of honor, but Flavorwire's reporter writes that the story seems like it was written more for the author than by the author.
